Curriculum Vitae

I am an architect, design strategist, and team leader with an extensive track record of being a catalyst for high achievement and innovation. In a little over a decade, I have built a broad portfolio of award-winning work and cultivated highly effective teams, operating at the leading edge of the AEC industry. From the onset of my career, I have intuitively seized opportunities at the forefront of architecture and design, and I've dedicated my talents and energy toward expanding that frontier.

Experience

3/2018 - Present
Architecture Discipline Manager
WeWork
New York
I lead the architecture discipline as part of a cross-functional design leadership team focused on Enterprise businesses. In this role, I have recruited, managed, and nurtured exceptional talent while delivering transformative design solutions for leading global institutions. Based on my track record as a functional manager and leader in the organization, I work with executives at the highest levels of the organization to inform recruitment practices, company culture, and support, if not lead, sensitive, high-risk ventures.
9/2013 - 2/2018
Architect
Ennead Architects
New York

I experienced one of the most significant growth periods of my career during my tenure with Ennead. I started with the firm as a design technology leader -facilitating the improvement of colleague’s capabilities, firm-wide, with digital design methodologies. Subsequently, I worked on numerous institutional projects across all project phases. My project roles were broad -operating at the intersection of design, computational expertise, and strategic acuity- including the design and development of specialty systems, building enclosures, space planning, and programming.
3/2016 - 6/2016
Architect
Adjaye Associates
New York
I served as a Project Architect for the 130 William project, primarily focused on the detailed development of the tower's facade systems. Among a team of three architects, I lead our documentation and coordination efforts - rationalizing and systemizing our approach to the nuances and details of the tower's features.
3/2013 - 9/2013
Intermediate Designer
Jaklitsch/Gardner Architects
New York
I lead several fast-paced, high-pressure projects during my tenure with JGA. My responsibilities ranged from design leadership for the (unbuilt) New York Flagship location of Marc Jacobs -the firm’s largest client-, to construction administration on the renovation of a historic Hudson Valley residence for the CEO of Marc Jacobs. In this role, I dealt extensively with demanding clients and their teams, contractors, and sub-contractors.
6/2011 - 3/2013
Junior Designer
Studio V Architecture
New York

After running several small-scale projects, I lead the winning competition team for the Empire Stores RFP. I managed a group of 3 designers and was responsible for the conceptual development of the project and the management of submission deliverables. I also spearheaded several employee development programs to bolster the educational facet of the studio’s culture.

8/2009 - 5/2012
Independent Architectural Designer
Dubai, UAE
Geneva, CH
New York
In 2009, while teaching full-time at the American University of Sharjah in the UAE, I took on several projects as an independent contractor. I continued this type of work for several years, across three countries, working on an award-winning installation, commercial, hospitality, and stadium projects.

With ARX, I worked as part of a lean design team, developing several mixed-use projects in the gulf region. In 2008, several projects we developed were moving forward, and I moved to the UAE to work with our associate architect, Archen, to further the project’s development.

Skills

I am a highly-effective team leader, having built accomplished teams and coached top talent into effective leaders in their own right. I am also a highly-skilled communicator, comfortably navigating engagements with executive leaders and clients, challenging discussions with subordinates, or sensitive community engagement discussions.

I am a systems thinker and possess a robust command of architectural and BIM/computational subject matter expertise. I am also a certified Design Thinking practitioner and have successfully leveraged the methodology across an array of high-risk ventures and initiatives.
